I visited Geylang Serai at the behest of a friend of mine and I will not be in too much of a hurry to go back again.
The traffic crawled along at a snail’s pace and the congestion stretched all the way back to Eunos. Waiting makes most people, and me, quite irritable. We finally decided to alight at the Shell station and make our way to the bazaars. Apart from clubs, I cannot remember the last time I went to a place this crowded. The human traffic was shoulder to shoulder.
The damp weather just made the atmosphere worse, at least for me. It was quite an experience wading through the crowd, especially when we had to walk for long stretches. I must add that I have yet to join in the festivities at Chinatown on the eve of Chinese New Year in my twenty-two years of life. It made me miss clubbing, where I am really high and the distance between my table and the dance floor would be a fraction of the Geylang Serai area.
I concede that I enjoyed the grub on offer though. I had a great time devouring the fare offered by the different stalls, Ramly Burger, grilled chicken and fried quail (I am so going to get fat). The Turkish ice cream looked really appetising (and the sleights of hand were interesting), I would have picked up a cone or two if I was not so engrossed with my grilled chicken. It would have been better if there were seats, but there were not, so we had to make do eating as we walked. We even met an old police friend of ours doing his rounds there. Speaking of that, I could have sworn I felt a few hands patting my pockets, luckily I was wearing a pair of bermudas with zips to seal the pockets.
I would have liked to stay longer and eaten more, but the three of us were quite tired since we had a few beers before that (it was their idea). We parted as soon as they completed their Hari Raya shopping. Along the way out, some asshole smeared mud (I think) on me, what the hell? As much as I relished the chow there, I cannot stand such crowds. Do forgive me if this entry is disjointed or contains a lot of errors, I am still a little tipsy.
Anyway, Selemat Hari Raya and Happy belated Deepavali!

but loads of repetitive of the food there
and the turkish wrap isnt that nice. too ex, and not much ingredients
Yeah, most bazaars have repetitive food. At least it was a welcome change from the usual night bazaars. Don’t remember mentioning turkish wraps in my entry, lol.
Anyway, I cannot seem to load your website, odd…
